NFL Week 5

The first clash of week five was an all-California affair as the 3-1 LA Rams hosted the 3-1 49ers. The NFC West rivals produced an exciting game that was settled in overtime by an Eddy Pineiro field goal. It was a surprise 26-23 win for the visitors since they were much depleted and was their first in OT since they lost the Super Bowl that way in 2024.

London hosted a game this week too, welcoming the Vikings and the Browns, the former coming from three down in the fourth quarter to win 21-17. The Cowboys condemned the Jets to a fifth straight defeat, winning 37-22 on the road, while Detroit continued to score freely, beating the Bengals 37-24.

The Patriots moved into positive territory for the season by beating the Bills 23-20 on the road to go 3-2. It was Buffalo’s first loss of the season and perhaps the first sign that New England could be a team worth watching this year. Elsewhere the Seahawks were edged out in a thriller on home soil, going down 38-35 to the Bucs, who moved to 4-1 and maintained their 100% record on the road.
