With well over a third of the regular season gone the tables were starting to take shape and we began to get an idea of who might be in the mix come the playoffs. The New York Jets would not be among those teams but they did produce a stunning fourth-quarter fightback to beat the Bengals 39-38. They scored 23 points in the fourth period to earn their first win of a dire season.
It was a bye week for the Seahawks but the other team who would go on to make the Super Bowl, New England, moved to 6-2 with a 32-13 home win over the Browns, Drake Maye throwing for three touchdowns. Elsewhere the Bills thrashed the Panthers (40-9), the Colts went to 7-1 with a 38-14 home win over the 1-7 Titans, and New Orleans also slumped to 1-7, going down 23-3 in front of their own fans against the Buccaneers.
